For those Westchester foodies who are jetting out to the Caribbean for feasting and finery, it is officially time to get excited. The Bahamas Culinary and Arts Festival is returning to Baha Mar this year, but now on an even larger scale. Attendees can expect the annual festival to be jam-packed with interactive celebrity chef demos, exclusive master classes, an art showcase, and live entertainment.
Nassau kicks off its culinary and arts week on October 22 with a truffle dinner hosted by Westchester’s own Daniel Boulud at Cafe Boulud. Several world-renowned chefs, such as Ken “Katsuya” Uechi of Katsuya, Dario Cecchini of Carna, and Marcus Samuelsson of Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House, will be in attendance. Celebrity chefs, Food Network stars, spirit experts, sommeliers, and master mixologists will host dinners and demonstrations throughout the weeklong event for an even more hands-on culinary journey.
FUZE Art Expo will also take place, showcasing artwork from seven Caribbean nations and 35 artists. Attendees can expect tours, artist-led panel discussions, demonstrations, a film series, and hands-on workshops like straw crafting.
The festival’s highlight will be Friday evening’s live performance by Sir Rod Stewart at the Beach Party Powered by SLS Baha Mar. Baha Mar is a resort development encompassing three globally recognized hotels: Grand Hyatt, SLS, and Rosewood. The property offers guests of all three hotels 45 restaurant and lounge options, a casino, a golf course, a water park, an ESPA spa, and over 30 shops.
A festival weekend pass for the Bahamas Culinary and Arts Festival ranges from $599 to $799 and includes access to the festival’s main events and experiences. For a full calendar of events and pricings, visit the website.
