Somers

The Town of Somers parade, hosted by the Somers Lions Club, will start at 10:15 a.m. The parade will leave from the bus loop between SIS and SMS and will progress to the Veterans Memorial at Ivandell Cemetery, followed by a flag ceremony at 11 a.m. with light refreshments at the Town House.

Fun Fact:
According to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, “Veterans Day does not include an apostrophe but does include an ‘s’ at the end of ‘veterans’ because it is not a day that ‘belongs’ to veterans, it is a day for honoring all veterans.”

White Plains

The city’s annual ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. at White Plains City Hall on November 11. The ceremony is sponsored by the Mayor’s Memorial and Veteran’s Day Board.

Yorktown

The Yorktown Day Parade will be held on Sunday, November 12 from 2-3 p.m. All vets and their immediate families are welcome to assemble at Lakeland High School’s main parking lot from at 1-2 p.m., along with local scout groups and civic organizations.
