Based on the 1951 musical starring Gene Kelly, An American in Paris follows aspiring painter and World War II Veteran Jerry Mulligan as he navigates a new life and new love in post-war Paris. His existence is turned upside down when he falls for Lise, a young Parisian turning the heads of multiple suitors, in this breezy production featuring classic Gershwin songs like “I Got Rhythm” and “Stairway to Paradise.”

 

A Doll’s House, Part 2

Oct 18-Nov 2, Hudson Stage Company

Playwright Lucas Hnath picks up the suspenseful story of Nora Helmer 15 years after she stuns her husband by storming out of the house without her wedding ring at the end of A Doll’s House. Exhausted by her empty marriage and oppressive husband, Nora’s inevitably emotional return is met with several questions, prompting a rethinking of the concept of marriage itself as well as the gender roles within it.

Inspired by Molière’s five-act comedy, Brendan Pelsue’s translation and adaptation of Don Juan will hit the stage for the first time in Westport at this world premiere.
