Where to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Westchester

For the holiday that commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over France in 1862, we thought we’d suggest a couple of spots in Westchester where you can mount your own triumph.

Crabtree’s Kittle House

One of Westchester’s favorite dining destinations, the Kittle House will host The Cinco de Mayo Murders on Saturday, May 4 at 8 p.m. It’s a full-on murder mystery/comedy dinner theater, with professional actors sitting amongst the crowd! Enjoy the Chappaqua restaurant’s signature flair in a timely menu throughout, all for $75 per person (or $95 with beer and house wine).

Mariachi Mexico

Forget the mariachi band: You’ll hear sweet music in the fare at Armonk’s Mariachi Mexico, which will open from noon until 9 p.m. on Sunday. Patio seeting will be first-come, first-served, but no matter where you sit you can enjoy $8 frozen lime margaritas, $5 imported beers, and a limited-time chef’s menu featuring chicken chipotle and carnitas tacos, enchiladas mole, bistec burritos, nopal (cactus) and carnitas tostadas, and plenty of guac with either chips or farm-fresh veggies.

Vega Mexican Cuisine

This contemporary Mexican joint in Hartsdale will offer giveaways all weekend starting as early as Thursday night. Drink specials will also be available, including $3 shots of Herradura and El Jimador. Reservations are encouraged.
