What’s in Your Mayor’s Wallet?

Read on… you may be surprised

This Election Day, you might think you’re electing some fat-cat pol to run your local government from his or her ivory tower. Well, maybe not. Sure, Yonkers’ Mike Spano is the highest-paid mayor in Westchester, at $156,100, but there are 311 Yonkers city employees who earned more than Spano did in 2015. Meanwhile, there are seven villages/cities that don’t pay their mayors at all. Often, it’s the village manager, an appointee, who really rakes it in.
