This Immersive Installment Is an Instagrammer's Dreamworld


You have likely heard of Refinery29, the groundbreaking media company taking the world by storm with its fresh and diverse online content. But for those who haven’t, this red-hot company is back, in Brooklyn, with the fourth annual installment of its art-and-fashion funhouse, 29Rooms.

Deployed in an immersive space that had burst with picture-perfect splashes of style, culture, and creativity, 29Rooms’ 2017 NY event welcomed attendees from 45 states and 13 countries, reaching one in two Instagram users globally.

The theme of this year’s tour, which will debut in New York, is titled “Expand Your Reality” and is, according to Refinery29 cofounder Piera Gelardi, intended to “challenge guests to leave any self-limiting beliefs at home and open themselves up to new ideas and unforeseen experiences…. We hope to create a transformative space where guests leave with a more expansive mindset.”

Gelardi, an award-winning entrepreneur and social-media goddess, also shared that 29Rooms emphasizes elevating underrepresented voices. Though this year’s list of collaborators was still top-secret at press time, past collaborators have included Demi Lovato, Margot Robbie, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Janelle Monáe, along with a coterie of contemporary artists with global renown.
