These Sandwiches Are the Heroes You Didn't Know You Needed

These local heros can save the day, too!

Avengers: Infinity War broke box-office records. Deadpool 2 and Ant-Man & the Wasp made us LOL, with Venom, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and Aquaman still to come. With all these cool superheroes on the 2018 landscape, we thought we’d chime in with some local super-heros so delicious, they should come with capes instead of napkins.

Melt

277 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains

The Jerked Chicken Hero with the Southwestern Combo is a downright melty masterpiece. All white-breast-meat chicken is marinated, grilled, and then diced with jerk seasoning and sauce. The Southwestern Combo throws in bacon, chipotle remoulade, cheddar cheese, jalapenõs, homemade corn and avocado salsa (sweet onions, cilantro, and moho-vinaigrette).

Fiamma Pork Store

107 Halstead Ave, Harrison
914.630.1452
The delectable espresso-rubbed brisket is paired with a fontina cheese and horseradish aioli. With its bona fide Bronx roots, this butcher shop will have you antsy for a bite as they make these unforgettable heros in front
of you.

Rocky’s

235 Saw Mill River Rd, Millwood
www.rockysdeli.net
This cherished deli is iconic for multiple generations of Westchesterites, and their trademark Hashtag Hero is a major reason why. The Hashtag boasts a juicy chicken cutlet with bacon, egg, cheese, and hash-brown wedge. The deli that never closes can also hook you up with a post-last-call breakfast wedge that’ll put you to sleep with a smile on your face.

Pop’s Espresso Bar

7 Huguenot St, New Rochelle
www.popsespresso.com

Pop’s Heffe is one heroic hero. Ham, eggs, and fontina cheese with cheddar frico and truffle ketchup on a flour-dusted hero is the stuff dreams are made of — and one of the best things you can wake up to.

Casa d’Italia

265 Halstead Ave, Harrison
www.casaditalia.com
Patrons of this shop buzz about the Bronx Tale — but that has nothing to do with the ’90s De Niro flick. Instead, this succulent staple of Casa d’Italia takes a breaded chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, and a spicy capicollo and adds sweet sundried peppers and a kick of a fresh pesto, for an eruption of flavor that Mount Vesuvius would envy.
