Want to do something fun in March and get out of the cold at the same time? You can if you just take a quick hop over the Tappan Zee, to Piermont, to experience the third year of the indoor market known as The Souk.
Once again at The Outside In event space on Ferdon Avenue, The Souk is an indoor epicurean upmarket with an undeniable spin. In addition to a diverse and weekly rotating selection of curated, prepared fine foods and produce from some of the best Hudson Valley farms, food entrepreneurs, and restaurants, The Souk’s ambiance resurrects the ancient communal traditions of lively Middle Eastern bazaars and Mediterranean agoras. On any given Sunday during its three-month run, which began in January, attendees may bask in a sensual culinary oasis perfumed with spices, rich oils, artisan cheeses, simmering soups, roasted meats, and fresh-baked pies wafting the air. The palate-piquing fare runs the epicurean gamut, from mainstream and trendy to exotic, with an impressive variety of top-quality regional and other vendors. Don’t miss their famous Chili Cook-Off, which caps the event.
