Westchester is home to thousands of small businesses—in fact, most of the businesses lining our Main Streets, office parks, repurposed historical buildings, home offices, and shared workspaces fall squarely in the small-biz category. And they serve, for many of us, as employers, clients, vendors, and/or trusted places to frequent for our favorite goods and services.
So, it makes sense to pay homage to these organizations in the pages of our magazine—and this marks our third year doing just that, in four categories: General Excellence, Oustanding Minority-Owned Small Business, Outstanding Nonprofit, and Outstanding Philanthropic Small Business. (All organizations must have fewer than 50 full-time employees, have been in business for at least two years, and maintain a physical location in Westchester.) We started with a large pool of candidates and, through due dilligence and editorial debate, selected the following 14 organizations, based on their display of consistent success, devotion to excellence, and loyal customer base.
