Here's Where Your Favorite TV Characters Might Hang Out in Westchester

Favorite fictional haunts of your favorite fictional TV characters.

If Westchester County were the entire world (you mean it’s not?), all your favorite fictional TV characters would be hanging out here, too. What follows are some county locales where you’d be likely to find them.

Seinfeld: Pleasantville Diner

This one’s a breeze, especially since Jerry has already been there in real life, when he and actor-writer-comedian Steve Martin had eggs during an episode of Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Drinking Coffee. A bonus feature is the diner’s location, which is not only a short stroll from the from the P’ville Metro-North station but only a few hundred yards from the Saw Mill South, which they could hop onto back to the West Side, while George complains about the price of his tuna melt.

Sex and the City: Mediterraneo

Smack in the heart of Downtown White Plains, this trendy new hotspot is exactly the kind of see-and-be-seen venue where Carrie and crew talk shoes and men over brunch and Cosmos. Besides, the unrushed-service vibe of this Z Hospitality Group gem will allow plenty of time for patrons to soak up the spectacle of Carrie’s latest pair of Manolo Blahniks.

Mad Men: BLT Steak at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester

Don Draper is a philandering scoundrel, but the charisma-oozing enigma has enough class to launch his own high school. So, where would this fictional Ossining resident hang out if Manhattan were closed for repairs? No doubt you’d find him at BLT Steak in White Plains’ opulent Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, where he can cozy up to a nice Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned before repairing to the penthouse suite with the blonde (brunette or redhead) he just met.

Downton Abbey: Rosen House at Caramoor

Suppose some disgruntled proletariat (my money’s on Branson) threw a stink bomb in the middle of Downton Abbey on a particularly hot August day. Where would Lord Grantham and the gang go for high tea? Our money is on Rosen House at Katonah’s Caramoor, where the timeless beauty of the European gardens would have them feeling right at home — even Violet!

Game of Thrones:  Equus at Castle on the Hudson

It’s difficult to imagine just where the Starks, Lannisters, and Targaryens would all feel comfy, but if there were such a place in Westchester, it’d likely be the Gilded Age castle formerly known as Carrollcliffe in Tarrytown. Dany and her dragons would preside magnificently from the battlements, while Cersei could luxuriate at Thann Sanctuary, because that is one women who reeeally needs to relax.
