The holidays are the season of giving. Now, Westchesterites can better indulge the spirit, thanks to GreenDrop, which offers a new way to donate used goods to those in need.
Having installed its first freestanding New York State location in White Plains in 2017 — GreenDrop cleverly transforms old gas stations and convenience stores into brand-new donation centers. The White Plains site, for example, was once a Getty gas station, but now, as a GreenDrop depot, anyone who pulls up can drop off lightly worn clothing, as well as gently used electronics and other household goods. The donations are then converted into much-needed funding for GreenDrop’s partner charities.
At GreenDrop White Plains, you can support such causes as the American Red Cross, Military Order of the Purple Heart or National Federation of the Blind. On-site attendants will provide you with a tax receipt for your partner charity.
