From A To Z With Rob Astorino

Wildcats, Rams, Dolphins, and all of County Executive Rob Astorino’s other favorite things.

Ashlin, my youngest daughter, who’s excited about losing her first tooth. Ready for ATM withdrawal, Tooth Fairy?

Burger and Beer Blast. A shameless plug for Westchester Magazine’s Wine & Food Festival.

Coach Diner in Thornwood. Great chocolate-chip pancakes and sweet potato waffles!

Intellectual Capital. If Westchester were a city, we’d have the nation’s second-highest percentage of residents with bachelor’s degrees.

John Jay Homestead, where we’ve taken great family pictures. In Westchester, there is no shortage of cultural and historical sites to enjoy.

Kiley, my oldest daughter, is still my little girl.

Lucio’s Pizzeria in Pleasantville. My Saturday afternoon hangout.

Miami Dolphins. I’ve been bleeding aqua and orange since I was 7 years old. They haven’t won a Super Bowl since!

Nothing. What I like to do with my family when I get some free time. Just being with them and doing “nothing” besides talking and laughing is one way I relax.

Opportunity. Take it when you see it.

Puglia. Italy’s hidden gem has the best food and wine in the world.

Quaint. One way to describe Westchester’s many postcard-perfect main streets.

Ronald Reagan was the right president at the right time and proved a leader can be tough, principled, and still smile.

Sean, my son, who’s becoming an amazing young man. And my sexy sweetheart, Sheila, for all of her love, support, and laughs.

The Godfather. Best movie of all time. “Don’t ask me about my business!”

Urban. Westchester’s vibrant urban scene in Yonkers, White Plains, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, and Peekskill runs counter to Westchester’s stereotype. We’re hip, too!

Vince Lombardi. “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.”

Westlake High School, Class of ’85, which makes me old. Go Wildcats!

X2O Xaviars on the Hudson  is still the best of the best. All hail Chef Peter Kelly!

Yankees. Bronx Bombers. 27 World Championships. Any argument?

Zero. The amount the county tax levy will rise so long as I’m county executive.
