Celebrate the Hudson River Valley at This 4-Course Tasting Dinner

Held at the CIA, the fundraiser brings together amazing local chefs for a night of philanthropic foodie fun.

Head up to Hyde Park to celebrate among culinary greats a cleaner Hudson River. The fourth annual Chefs for Clearwater fundraising event (845.265.0808) observes the 50th anniversary of the maiden voyage of Clearwater, a 106’ replica of the sloops that sailed the Hudson in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The boat was launched in 1969 by American folk legend Pete Seeger. Before creating Clearwater, in 1966, Seeger and his wife, Toshi Seeger, founded The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater Inc., a nonprofit organization now based in Beacon. The organization’s mission is to advocate for cleaning the Hudson River, through educational programming, sailing instruction, and the annual Clearwater Festival, held in June.

Chefs for Clearwater, held at Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Dutchess County on September 14, is a can’t-miss happening for food lovers. The event celebrates Hudson Valley farms and regional producers via a four-course tasting menu by some of the area’s top chefs.

Antiques Roadshow’s Nicho Lowry will be the evening’s auctioneer. Tickets are $300 per person, and all proceeds benefit Hudson River Sloop Clearwater.
