Formerly known as the “Saw-Pit” due to its inception as an industrial boat-building community, Port Chester is today known for its vibrant restaurant scene, represented by juicy Italian flavors at Tarry Lodge and Alba’s as well as culinary taste sensations from Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil at the various South American restaurants that are located in the heart of the town.

Beyond its buzzing restaurant scene, Port Chester is also known for being the home of the Capitol Theatre, a cornerstone in Rock and Roll history where artists such as Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin used to perform. The theater remains open as a music venue and still attracts performers from all over the world.
