Since its founding in 1966, Summer Discovery has delivered unforgettable summer experiences to over 130,000 students worldwide. These summer programs are designed to accelerate college preparedness and balance immersive and hands-on academic programming with off-campus adventures and city exploration. Summer Discovery has expanded its offerings for 2025 and recently acquired Oxford Summer Courses, broadening its global footprint and offerings to students worldwide.
New & Expanded 2025 Summer Offerings
Summer Discovery has long partnered with top-tier institutions, including the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, Dartmouth Summer Scholars, Georgetown University, UCLA Anderson School of Management, and UC Berkeley. This year, Summer Discovery is providing even more opportunities for students to thrive, adding the following to its academic offerings:
- Vanderbilt University: Explore academic courses such as the Vanderbilt School of Nursing Pre-College Academy, Positive Psychology, Hands-on Astronomy, and Global Citizenship. With access to world-class laboratories and Nashville’s dynamic culture, students experience a rich blend of innovation and exploration.
- Leadership Institute at Dartmouth: Designed for students eager to develop leadership skills, this program blends classroom instruction with experiential learning. A transformative two-day retreat in the White Mountains challenges students to apply their leadership knowledge in real-world settings.
- Research in Medicine Academy at UC Berkeley: In partnership with Polygence, this hybrid program provides students with an immersive medical experience, combining on-campus coursework with a mentored research project, culminating in an academic research paper.
- Cornell University Middle School & Gifted Programs: Offering courses in medical sciences, global politics, and engineering, students can explore unique topics such as Forensic Science, Manga & Anime Art, and Regenerative Medicine. The program also features daily workshops and off-campus excursions.
- IMG: Combining elite sports training with academic enrichment, this program allows students to refine their athletic skills while taking courses in Health & Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning, and Sports Business.
Summer Discovery’s immersive programs provide unparalleled opportunities to gain hands-on learning, engage with expert instructors, and build a competitive edge for college admissions. With over 300 courses available for middle school, high school, and gifted students, participants can select programs tailored to their academic interests and choose from residential or commuter programs that run from two to six weeks.
