The world of cosmetic dentistry has come a long way, particularly in how technology is utilized to bring dentists and their patients quicker and more predictable results. In West Harrison, Dr. Robert Rioseco, at The Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, has been using digital technology for both smile design and fabrication of veneers and crowns for more than a decade. Dr. Rioseco uses a technique called Digital Smile Design, which sends digitally captured molds and photography of a patient’s teeth and face to a laboratory in Madrid, where a smile is designed specifically to fit that patient’s face. The patient can also give input to the team to deliver a shape and size of teeth that is more suited to their needs. At that point, the new smile can be transferred in the form of a “trial smile,” where the patient can see directly what the outcome will look like before the case even starts. Dr. Rioseco is one of only two dentists in Westchester to hold the esteemed Accreditation of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
