1) Start by getting your hair blown out and professionally styled by one of the experienced stylists at Blush n’ Blow!
2) Sleep with your hair in a loose high bun, or a loose braid secured with a scrunchie. (Try a silk pillowcase to reduce bed head and frizzy hair.)
3) Use a dry shampoo to avoid oily roots. Make sure to work it into your root area, and add heat from your blow dryer. For added volume, we use R+Co Balloon Dry Volume Spray. Use it at home by flipping hair over and spraying all over from mid length to ends for an all over finished look.
4) Your hands have natural oils, so avoid playing with your hair too much! Clip your hair back (channel your inner Snooki, we all have one!) to get it out of the way.
5) Fresh is best. Always listen to your stylist and keep up with haircuts. Freshly cut hair styles and holds better.
*BONUS TIP: Here’s how to use a curling iron to create loose beachy waves:
Take large subsections, curl away from your face, and leave the ends out to avoid that overly done look. Once your whole head is curled, run your fingers through your hair, then finish with a texture spray. We love working with a 1-inch curling iron for women with hair shoulder length or shorter, and 1 ½-inch curling iron for longer hair.

Nikki has always been inspired by all things beauty, from hair, to fashion, and makeup she knew making people look and feel their best was her calling. She’s a 3rd generation Harrison resident, and is proud to own a small business in the town she’s loved her whole life. After studying at FIT and working all aspects of retail, she attended the Make Up Designory in Manhattan and Capri Cosmetology in Nanuet. Because of her vast experience, she’s able to anticipate coming trends and bring the latest looks to her clients. Nikki specializes in Hand Tied Extensions, as well as photo shoot ready makeup (think bridal, red carpet, or even family photos), and custom airbrush tanning.

Jillian always knew she wanted to be an artist, but didn’t realize hair would be her medium until she started her family, then attended Capri Cosmetology while pregnant with her son. Specializing in hair color and cuts, Jillian aims to make sure every client walks out feeling 100% like the best version of themselves. She focuses on creating looks that work with her client’s goals and lifestyle, and always aims to have her client’s hair feeling more healthy when leaving the salon than when they walked in. Jillian met Nikki in elementary school at Harrison Avenue School, and loves being able to work alongside her best friend, adding to the beauty in the town she loves, one client at a time.
