The Jay Heritage Center, in Rye, NY, is dedicated to transforming the 23-acre Jay Estate into a vibrant educational campus, with inclusive cultural offerings about American history, social justice, architecture, and environmental stewardship. Anchored by the 1838 Jay Mansion, which has a state-of-the-art geothermal heating and cooling system, the non-profit just opened historic gardens, thoughtfully revitalized by landscape architect Thomas Woltz to increase biodiversity. Future projects include rehabilitating a 1907 carriage house to serve as an arts and performance center and creating a premiere preservation and sustainable landscape study center at the mansion.
