Lung cancer claims the lives of 9,000 New Yorkers annually. At the NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital Cancer Center, patients have access to the expertise and experience of our Lung Cancer Disease Management team. “Our multidisciplinary team provides screening, diagnostic, surgical intervention, and ongoing support to patients with lung cancer,” says Stephanie Smith-Marrone, MD, a medical oncologist at the Cancer Center and a member of NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group/Westchester.

The treatment of lung cancer at NYP/Lawrence Hospital includes surgical interventions, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, genetically targeted drugs, and the most current immunotherapy agents. Adds Dr. Smith-Marrone, “We now have drugs which target specific mutations in the cancer cells’ DNA that may lead to better outcomes for patients with improved quality of life.”
