Rye residents are about to find out what those in Armonk and three Fairfield County towns already know: Granola is good.
The fifth location of the Granola bar debuted September 18 on Purchase Street, offering a commitment to healthy food done flavorfully. There’s nothing fried here — only local and organic goodies that typify elevated casual dining. Additionally, there are many Paleo, vegan, and vegetarian options.
The breakfast offerings are where the Granola bar shines with on-trend acai bowls, delicious health-conscious smoothies, artisan coffee including nitro cold brew and flavored lattes, breakfast burritos, stellar avocado toast (the house-cured salmon is worth the extra $8 splurge), and of course granola in many flavors (cinnamon, honey, vanilla almond, toasted coconut, dark chocolate, lemon cardamom, and morning zest) and iterations (bars, bowls, parfaits).
The lunch menu has creative meal-sized salads (e.g., the Modern Farmly with massaged kale, local Fleishers sausage, avocado, sweet potatoes, spiced pumpkin seeds, and maple–mustard vinaigrette) plus wraps and sandwiches like chicken salad, with vanilla almond granola, grapes, mixed greens, avocado, bacon, and tomato on toasted multigrain and the Bababooey (roast turkey, Swiss, bacon, mixed greens, tomato, and house thousand island on grilled sourdough bread), named for Greenwich resident and The Howard Stern Show executive producer Gary Dell’Abate.“We really love breakfast all day, like avocado toast with a soft egg on top or the breakfast burrito,” says co-founder Julie Mountain. “Our Paleo and traditional baked goods are also amazing and baked fresh daily.”

And while drink options are limited to non-alcoholic ones, there is yet a bar area to sit at.
“From our days in New York City, Dana [co-founder Dana Zonenshine Noorily] and I remember going into our favorite restaurants and eating at the bar. It creates such a nice option for those dining alone, or with a group. Patrons also get to watch our baristas make coffee.”
