White Plains just got a whole lot more gorgeous with the addition of a vibrant mural in front of the ArtsWestchester headquarters. New York City painter Wane One was awarded a public art commission from the arts council to paint a 1650 square foot street art installation directly in front of the building on Mamaroneck Avenue. The public art project was commissioned in celebration of ArtsWestchester’s 20th Anniversary in its historic White Plains building.
The piece, titled “Brighter Colors Better Life,” is a wonderful collaboration between ArtsWestchester, The City of White Plains, The White Plains BID and Kite Realty’s City Center.

Once finished, the new public art piece will serve as a colorful welcome mat inviting residents and visitors into ArtsWestchester’s two-story gallery and into its nine-story building filled with artist studios and creative businesses.
