Garth Road newcomer Yamanoya Sushi just won Best of Westchester for Asian-style chicken soup, but on my first visit I was won over by the Yama sandwich, an Asian-style finger sandwich. These little triangles, held together by soy sushi wrappers (a nori alternative), contain a delectable layering of spicy tuna, avocado, lobster salad, and rice topped with eel sauce, spicy mayo, masago (capelin roe), and scallion. Not only does each bite of this appetizer keep you coming back for more, but also its flat shape and wide swath of filling make for a fresh alternative to the sushi roll.
