In an effort to attract artists to this space, RXR and the city have teamed up in a contest wherein one person shall be given a yearlong lease on one of the building’s decked-out studio apartments absolutely free.
“Our artist community is a critical component of the downtown transformation,” says Luiz Aragon, Commissioner of Development for the City of New Rochelle. “The contest is a fun way to foster that community and the creative energy that powers the city.”
The 459 square foot studio space includes floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views of the city and skyline, hardwood floors, walk-in closets, stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher!), and smart locks. Additional building amenities include lounge, game room, indoor/outdoor fitness center and yoga studio, and even valet parking. Market pricing for the unit? $1,985 per month.
If free rent in a luxury studio sounds like it might be something you’d be interested in, entering the contest is easy: simply submit a 30-second video saying why New Rochelle is an ideal creative place to live. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. on May 17, 2019. Really, that’s it. (Okay, you have to be 21 or older as of July 1, but that’s really it.)
