You don’t have to hop on a train to New York City to see top quality music. Several 2016 Grammy nominees, which were announced Monday, will be playing shows in Westchester the next few months.
The biggest name is Wilco. The band, which was just nominated for Top Alternative Album for its July Star Wars release, will play back to back nights at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester on February 2 and 3.
Also playing the Capitol is The Punch Brothers, who were nominated for Best Americana Album for their January release The Phosphorescent Blues. They will will be performing there Saturday night (December 12).
Meanwhile, Best Folk Album nominee Patty Griffin (for Servant Of Love) will play Tarrytown Music Hall on March 12, along with fellow folk singers Sara Watkins and Anaïs Mitchell.
Just outside Westchester, Best New Artist nominee Tori Kelly will perform at K104.7’s Not So Silent Night on December 12 at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie. Best Regional Roots Music Album nominee Jon Cleary (for Go Go Juice) will play Stage One in Fairfield, CT. on December 30. Best Folk Album nominees Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn will play The Warehouse at the Fairfield Theatre Company on March 3.
