10th Annual Peekskill Jazz & Blues Festival, North Division Street, Peekskill
What’s better than live music? Free live music, alongside a crafts fair, outdoor dining and drinking, and a variety of art, clothing, and jewelry vendors. You can enjoy all of that and more at this year’s 10th anniversary of the Jazz and Blues Festival, returning to downtown Peekskill on July 23. Festivities run from 3 to 10 pm and feature Grammy nominees and other world-class artists. Plus, be sure to check back with us after the fact for an image gallery and and recap of the performances.
Morning Kayak Tour, Hudson River Recreation, Sleepy Hollow
Start your morning off right this Sunday, July 24, as trained guides lead kayakers of all skill levels through Sleepy Hollow’s many historic sites, including Kidd Rock and the Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse, and down toward the Tappan Zee Bridge where, on a nice day, the Manhattan skyline is visible. The tour lasts from 9 am to 12 pm, and costs $89 per person. Hudson River Recreation also offers kayaking lessons or stand-up paddle boarding tours, so you can adventure through the Hudson anyway you please.
Latin Mix Friday, Don Coqui, White Plains
Turn up the heat this Friday, July 22 at Don Coqui’s signature weekly event. In addition to the White Plains favorite’s authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, party goers can enjoy Latin music mixed by local DJs Danny Storm and DJ Make, and, of course, delicious drinks. No cover charge all night, plus $100 bottle specials until midnight give locals the perfect venue to let loose and dance through the morning.
Wizard of Oz, Westmoreland Sanctuary, Mount Kisco
Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Witness the Westmoreland Sanctuary Theatre’s production of a timeless classic this Friday, July 22 at 6:30 pm. But don’t be spooked; though the show is outside among Westmoreland’s beautiful scenery, the lions are all just part of the show. Tickets are $20 for members, $22 for non-members, and $12 for children under 12. If you only had a brain, you wouldn’t miss this.
