Bronxville is filled with boutique stores and even a village movie theater (below left).

“You don’t need to go into Manhattan, and it’s much nicer than the mall,” says longtime Bronxville resident—and shopper—Rada Petrovich. “Everything you want is right here.” The pianist says she bought her last gown for a concert from Toney Toni and the Gang, one of many boutiques on Pondfield Road, and she stops by her favorite grocer, the Village Natural Market, almost every day because it is just a few steps away.
In fact, everything in Bronxville is just a few steps from everything else, which is one big reason shopping there is a heady experience. Pondfield Road, Kraft Avenue, Park Place, and Cedar Street form the core of a thriving, main-street-type commercial district.
From Andre’s Hardware and Arista Camera & Imaging to the Wine & Spirits Emporium and Womrath Bookshop, you can find just about anything you want, except a big-box chain store. If fashion is your forte, there are nine boutiques, four jewelers, and a shoe store. Need to stock the larder? Head for one of a dozen grocers and specialty shops like Dobbs & Bishop Fine Cheese or Mini’s Prime Meats & Specialties. Your words on paper will impress with supplies from one of the four stationers in town. And don’t forget Fido—you’ll find something special for him at Provisions for Pets, a doggy (and kitty) boutique not far from the train station. And, even if a favorite store picks up stakes, a new gem won’t be far behind—storefronts don’t tend to stay vacant for long!
