Westchester County is offering new resources to small businesses that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a partnership with local developer RXR Realty, the county is providing a one-on-one mentoring advisory service for small business owners who are struggling financially.

County Executive George Latimer says he is pleased that the county is extending resources to those who have been hit particularly hard by the pandemic.  “Westchester is fortunate to have experienced business professionals who will share their expertise on a one-to-one basis,” he says.

A team of professionals are volunteering to give free business advice to those in need of some extra help right now. The volunteers have expertise in various business disciplines to offer specific and well-rounded mentorship.

The Westchester County Office of Economic Development then partners with RXR Realty’s RXR Volunteer program to connect the volunteers to small businesses.

Deborah Novick, the county Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, says the development company is adding invaluable expertise to the mentorship service.

“So many Westchester business owners have told us that they need help right now to reinvent and redefine their businesses. We commend RXR Realty for launching and partnering with the County on this valuable program. They bring to the table a tremendous wealth of talent and resources that can be matched to a small business owner’s specific need,” she says.

RXR Chairman and CEO Scott Rechler agrees that he is proud of RXR Realty’s role in the partnership. “The unprecedented public health crisis followed by a growing economic crisis requires us to reimagine how we help our communities in need,” he says.
