The Westchester Bank Promotes Vitale to VP of Commercial Lending
The Westchester Bank announced the promotion of Michael Vitale to vice president, commercial lending, on March 9. Vitale has worked at The Westchester Bank since 2010 and most recently served as assistant vice president, commercial lending.
In his new capacity, Vitale will be responsible for growing new loan activity while managing a more than $150 million loan portfolio across an industry spectrum that includes commercial, industrial, service, non-profit, and medicine. Says Vitale, “As a lifelong Westchester resident, I have a great appreciation of the special community in which we live and serve. It has also afforded me a unique perspective of the marketplace and the specialized banking needs of our local businesses.”
Food Bank Announces Appointment of Jeanne Blum as VP, Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy; Denise Killeen Appointed Program Services Coordinator
The Food Bank for Westchester, the county’s chief provider of services to the 200,000 Westchester residents who face chronic food insecurity, announced the appointment of Jeanne Blum as vice president, strategic partnerships and advocacy, and Denise Killeen as program services coordinator. The appointments follow the recent merger of the Food Bank with the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless.

In her new role, Blum will leverage her experience as executive director of the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless to strengthen existing partnerships and spearhead new initiatives to expand the Food Bank’s network.
As Program Services Coordinator, Denise Killeen will serve as a point of contact between the Food Bank and its member agencies. Prior to joining the Food Bank, Killeen was Blum’s assistant at the Coalition.
NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital Names Bronxville Physician to Head Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine
Dr. William Macaulay has been appointed director of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital. In his new role, Macaulay will oversee care at The Joint Replacement Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence, as well as other orthopedic surgery programs. He leads an expansion of orthopedics programs at the hospital, which began recently with the recruitment of new surgeons in various orthopedic subspecialties. Macaulay is an expert in the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Hope’s Door Welcomes New Board Member Jill Deitch
Hope’s Door, a Pleasantville-based nonprofit that seeks to “end domestic violence and empower victims to achieve safety, independence, and healing from the trauma of abuse,” welcomed Jill Deitch to their Board of Directors in March. Deitch comes to Hope’s Door as a licensed property/casualty/life health insurance broker at Carlson & Carlson, Inc. She has served as board of directors president for the Northern Westchester Center for the Arts and other local charities. “Jill is a great addition to our board of directors, her community involvement translates directly into the qualities we need,” states Carla Horton, executive director of Hope’s Door.
Orange County Trust hires Regional Presidents for Westchester
The Board of Directors of Orange County Trust Company has hired Joseph A. Ruhl as regional president. In this position he will lead commercial business expansion in Westchester. The expansion entails the bank’s first full-service branch in the county. Ruhl spent the first part of his career as an attorney until joining Hudson Valley Bank 13 years ago as first SVP and division executive in charge of its Legal Services Division.
