New VP of Treasury Management for First Niagara
First Niagara Financial Group recently appointed Andrea Wolfert as vice president, treasury management for its tri-state region, responsible for serving customers in Southwestern Connecticut, the Hudson Valley, and Northern New Jersey. In this role, Wolfert, an Irvington resident, will sell a variety of sophisticated commercial bank products and services, and implement and oversee activities and functions related to treasury/cash management to corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and municipalities, as well as support the Bank’s overall commercial banking operations. Prior to this, Wolfert had served in a similar capacity for First Niagara’s New England region. Wolfert joined First Niagara Bank in March 2014 with more than 20 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.
Dorf & Nelson Opens LA Office
Dorf & Nelson LLP has expanded its firm, opening a new Los Angeles office. The office, which is being managed by Jessica Kastner, Esq., will work closely with the New York office servicing new and existing clients in a range of practice areas. “The presence of Dorf & Nelson in Los Angeles allows us to provide our national clients, many of whom are active in both the New York and California markets, with a broader range of representation,” said Jon A. Dorf, Esq., managing partner. Denlea & Carton Adds Attorneys
Denlea & Carton LLP has recently added attorneys Myles K. Bartley and Lindsey Leibowitz to the practice, which relocated its office from White Plains to a bigger space in Harrison. Bartley, a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and Boston College Law School, has joined the firm’s complex litigation group. Leibowitz, a graduate of the University of Michigan and Fordham Law School, is an intellectual property lawyer joining Denlea & Carton’s corporate department, where she will assist clients with the registration, enforcement, and protection of their intellectual property portfolios.
New Leader for Yonkers Office of Veteran Services
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano has hired decorated veteran and former Yonkers mayor John Spencer as the Office of Veteran Services veteran advocate. “We are proud to have John join the city’s workforce once again,” said Spano. “There is no question of John’s commitment and passion for our city, especially towards his fellow veterans. When a veteran comes home, he or she may be vulnerable in adapting to home life. John will be available to these veterans 24-7, every step of the way. John’s first-hand experience and compassion for the needs of our veterans will be a great addition to the services our VA provides for our community.” Spencer comes to the veteran’s office after serving as the 40th mayor of the City of Yonkers for eight years and majority leader of the Yonkers City Council for six years. Spencer is a decorated veteran, having been awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge for his military service in the Vietnam War. He also served as the chair to the Yonkers Central Committee of Veterans Organizations for two years.
Lothrop Associates Promotes Three Staffers
Lothrop Associates LLP, an award-winning full service architecture and interior design firm, has promoted three of its associates: John Anastasiou, AIA, LEED AP; Philip Cerniglia, AIA; and Vincent Lisanti, AIA. Anastasiou has led the firm in the project management of its multi-family and public and private housing/residential work. He is currently working on, among other projects, the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour located in Rye. Cerniglia brings to the firm a wealth of knowledge and experience in healthcare projects as the new director of healthcare, and unique commissions such as the firm’s current Buddhist Hermitage. Lisanti has extensive experience in overseeing projects throughout the construction process. He is active with the firm’s library, healthcare, education, and housing projects. These promotions recognize the associates’ leadership, experience, and long-term dedication to the firm.

Law firm Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP, with offices in White Plains and Greenwich, CT, has hired two new attorneys—Christopher C. Palermo, a partner in the firm’s litigation practice group, and Janet B. Linn, a partner in the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice group—and promoted long-term associate Jennifer A. Lofaro. Palermo’s practice focuses on helping clients resolve commercial disputes across a wide range of legal areas and industries. Before joining Bleakley Platt, Mr. Palermo was a litigation partner at Kelley Drye & Warren, LLP, where he began his career. Linn’s practice focuses on patent, trademark, unfair competition, and trade secret litigation and counseling. Before joining Bleakley Platt, Linn was a partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius and at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott. With her promotion, Lofaro is now a partner in the firm’s commercial finance and real estate practice groups. She advises and represents regional and national institutional lenders and developers, as well as individual and corporate borrowers, in residential and commercial real estate transactions.
