The 8th annual Not-for-Profit Educational Summit will be held on November 17, at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown, and will feature a keynote speech by Mike Brady, president and CEO of Greyston Bakery, a Yonkers-based social enterprise. “Year of Innovation” Kicks Off With Global Entrepreneurship Week
To celebrate the innovators, job creators, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who are moving Westchester forward, the Westchester County Association is launching “The “Year of Innovation,” a series of programs designed by the BLUEPRINT for Westchester. The series kicks off this November with events planned for Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), November 17-21, a worldwide celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation that the WCA is bringing to Westchester, for the first time. Events include a Twitter Chat on November 18 (moderated by John Lucker, Deloitte’s Global Advanced Analytics & Modeling Market Leader, the virtual Q&A will give businesses in Westchester and beyond a leg up on how to best use data to inform a company’s next steps and strategic plans); a $10k pitch contest for entrepreneurs on November 18; a Women in Tech Awards luncheon on November 19 (hear from the women pioneering some of the world’s most importance science; and the WCA’s signature Leadership Dinner on November 20. Panel Discussion: Obamacare One Year Later
On November 19, join a top-notch panel of health care experts, including a keynote speaker from President Obama’s administration as they discuss the impact of the Affordable Care Act one year after its launch. With enrollment currently underway and a multitude of questions concerning the controversial law, this seminar held by The Business Council of Westchester is timely. Speakers include Dennis E. Play Ball—And Business
The Manhattanville College Sports Business Career Fair will be held at Reid Castle on Friday, November 21, from 10 am to 2 pm. Hiring managers and leaders from the sports world will convene for the seventh annual New York Metro area sport business career event. This event was developed by the Manhattanville Sport Business Management Degree Program, and is being offered to anyone interested in pursuing a career in the $500 billion sport business industry. A sports human resources panel will kick off the proceedings at 10 a.m., moderated by sports executive and recruiter Keith Cutler and featuring HR executives from the NFL, USTA, Octagon and NBC Sports. Over 30 hiring managers will be on hand, including numerous sports teams, leagues associations and agencies. The career fair is open to the public and free of charge.
