A vital part of the transportation infrastructure is Westchester County Airport, with its mix of commercial and private aviation.
The airport has received a package of $6.5 million from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program for taxiway renovation and new equipment purchases. These steps will help the facility maintain its ability to offer the broadest possible range of aviation services.
Currently, six airlines operate scheduled flights at the airport. They include American, Cape Air, Delta, JetBlue, US Airways and United. According to Deputy Commissioner Patricia Chemka of the Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation, the airport generates $735 million in annual economic activity.
