Each year, Inc. releases a list of small, privately owned businesses with the most success within their fields, something that’s considered a great achievement in the business world.
Introduced in 1982, the Inc. 5000 started off as a list of 500, growing exponentially in 2007. The list serves to show the success of small businesses, giving them a head start in the entrepreneurial world.
Companies must meet various requirements to be named on the list: According to Inc., to qualify for the 2020 list companies must have generated revenue by March 2016, made at least $100,000 by 2018, and at least $2 million in 2019.
In addition to the main list, Inc. has separate lists that honor companies lead by women and minorities. One of the women-owned companies, Macan Deve Engineers states, “As a New York certified Women-Owned Business in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industry, we are very proud of this achievement and grateful for everyone who has supported us from the beginning.”
