Westchester Children’s Museum Benefit

Westchester Children’s Museum raised more than $100,000 at its annual benefit held at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, in White Plains. Educators, business leaders, Museum founding families, and political leaders were among the 350 guests attending the event titled “We’re Almost Home” in recognition of the lease that was secured for the historic landmark Bathhouses at Playland in Rye. The guest of honor was Westchester County District Attorney and WCM board member Janet DiFiore.
Funds raised from the benefit will support the nonprofit’s campaign to build the brick-and-mortar museum. Until the brick-and-mortar museum is built, WCM continues to provide learning experiences to children through its Museum Without Walls program. 
“This year’s benefit was one of our most successful fundraisers and will help us to build the best museum possible for our children,” said WCM President Corinne Zola. “The evening served as a reminder of the need for out-of-school educational opportunities in our area. The museum will provide that—all at no cost to the taxpayer.”
The Westchester Children’s Museum also presented the Milton A. Williams, Jr., Scholars in Education Award to Greenburgh resident Janett Grose, director of children’s programs at the Carver Center in Port Chester.
