Manhattanville College Offers Professional Development Workshops

This June, Manhattanville College’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) will host a series of on-campus professional development workshops, focusing on women’s leadership (June 3), Myers-Briggs personality type indication (June 10), and resilient leadership (June 18). The Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness Professional Development Workshop Series is the fourth event in celebration of GPS’ 20th anniversary. The June 3 and June 10 workshops will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both workshops, which include lunch, are $375 per person. The June 18 workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and costs $575, which also includes lunch. To register, visit https://community.mville.edu/gps. Breakfast With The Comptroller

As part of the Westchester County Association’s Business Intel series, a breakfast and conversation with NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli is taking place on June 4 from 8:30 am to 10 am at Yonkers Raceway. The agenda includes topics such as funding entrepreneurs and startups through pension funds; Start-Up NY; updates on State budget and an overview of State finances; pension reform; and  campaign finance reform. KIND Healthy Snacks Founder & CEO Daniel Lubetzky

Social Entrepreneur and KIND Healthy Snacks Founder to Speak at JCC Event

Daniel Lubetzky, founder and CEO of KIND Healthy Snacks, and a pioneer of social entrepreneurship is coming to Westchester as part of the The JCC of Mid-Westchester’s Joining Creative Conversations, a three-part speaker series moderated by journalist Cheryl Strauss Einhorn. Einhorn, a media consultant, award-winning journalist, and an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School, will lead the discussion with Lubetzky, the son of a Holocaust survivor, who will share his unique perspective on socially conscious business decision-making and making the world a “kinder place.” Lubetzky is CEO of KIND Healthy Snacks, the leading maker of fruit and nut bars, and Chairman of PeaceWorks Inc, pursuing both peace and profit through joint ventures among neighbors striving to coexist in regions experiencing conflict. The event takes place June 10, at 7:30pm at the JCC in Scarsdale. Tickets are $15 at the JCC front desk, or online at www.jccmw.org.

WEDC’s Annual Spring Luncheon

With a theme of “advancing women’s entrepreneurship and economic growth,” the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) hosts its annual spring luncheon on Thursday June 12, 2014 from 11 am to 2 pm. The marketplace will take place from 11 am to noon, followed by the luncheon, which features a keynote speech given by Essie Weingarten, founder and global creative director, Essie Cosmetics.
