We can’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate our country’s independence than by watching a whole lot of explosives bursting in air over the Long Island Sound. And, from the waterfront, you can also see the show at neighboring Rye Playland: fireworks in stereo! But the sky isn’t the only thing bursting with color: The park’s Kwanzan Double Flower Pink cherry trees are in full bloom this month—and it’s sure easier to visit Harbor Island Park than Japan to admire the cascades of pale pink blossoms.
