Janis Joplin wrote “Mercedes Benz” at a Port Chester bar before a performance (one of her last) at The Capitol Theatre back in 1970—in fact, she announced that she’d done so at her show that night. Forty-three years and a $2 million renovation later, a whole slew of musical greats (including a few legends) are playing this theater once again: Bob Dylan, B.B. King, The Black Crowes—the big-name acts just keep on coming. Do yourself a favor and catch your favorite star on stage.
