William M. Mooney, Jr., was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of the CMS Bancorp, Inc., and CMS Bank (formerly Community Mutual Savings Bank). Mooney has been a director on both the company’s and the bank’s Boards of Directors since 2011. Mooney is the president of the Westchester County Association. Mooney’s long career in the banking industry has included positions with Union State Bank, Chase Manhattan Bank, Chemical Bank, and Citibank. He also served as president and CEO of Hudson Valley Bank. “Bill Mooney will provide valuable leadership to CMS Bank,” says John Ritacco, president and CEO of CMS Bank.

Nancy Lothrop of New Canaan, Connecticut, was promoted to senior director of development for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind of Yorktown Heights. The nonprofit organization also recently hired Gail Resnikoff of Ossining as director of planned giving. Lothrop has sprearheaded numerous fundraising initiatives for the organization during her 11 years with it. “Nancy has achieved incredible results over the past decade so this new role was a natural move forward both for her and for Guiding Eyes,” saysCEO and President Bill Badger.

Marlene Canapi and Barry Stopler, both of Pleasantville, joined the board of the Ossining-based Open Door Family Medical Center Foundation. Open Door provides medical care, dental care, and social services primarily to the economically disadvantaged in Westchester. Open Door has four centers in Westchester: Ossining, Port Chester, Mount Kisco, and Sleepy Hollow. In addition, Open Door operates five school-based health centers in Port Chester at Thomas A. Edison School, Park Avenue School, John F. Kennedy Magnet School, Port Chester Middle School, and Port Chester High School. Canapi first joined Open Door as the co-chair of the organization’s 2012 benefit, which featured a concert with David Crosby and Graham Nash. She currently is the board chair and producer of Pleasantville Community Television. Canapi has served as a co-organizer of the Pleasantville Music Festival, sits on the board of Arc Stages, and is the planning policy chair for the Pleasantville Master Plan. She is the founding chair of a vocational program at the Carol and Frank Biondi School in Yonkers. Stopler is the managing director of finance at Swiss Re America Holdings Corporation.

Grand Prix New York (GPNY) of Mount Kisco recently invested $90,000 in its Sim Room, which contains 10 professional-quality racing simulators, each with three 23-inch screen monitors. “Racing simulation offers aspiring racers and race veterans the opportunity to get their racing fix whenever and wherever they want,” says Jon Fontane, president of Motorsport Simulation Consultants. Says Nat Mundy, VP of sales and marketing for Grand Prix New York, “Adding the Sim Room was a logical extension of Grand Prix’s existing business and provides us with an opportunity to maximize revenue.”
