Returning from Independence Day on July 5, classic trivia game show Jeopardy! will feature Westchester native Chloe Zung, a customer experience advisor for internet-based prescription eyeglass seller Warby Parker.
“I’ve always wanted to be on Jeopardy!” she says. “I’ve been trying since I was 13 or 14; I take the test every year. This time it just worked out.”
Zung’s father has been a fan since she was very young, and the show has become something of a family pastime. “It usually comes down to who can read the question faster. My dad is my main competitor. It really is a sport!”
Though the show is pre-taped, Zung isn’t planning a huge viewing party for her episode. “I’d be too embarrassed. I still can’t believe it actually happened! I’ll probably just watch it with my immediate family.”
When asked if she has any specialty, she’s quick to answer: “Pop-Culture. I love watching VH1’s I Heart the ‘80s and ‘90s shows.” It should come as no surprise then, where Zung comes down on the issue of host Alex Trebek’s vintage facial hair:
“I’m going to go mustache. It’s distinguished.”
