“The loss of Ralph Martinelli has shaken me personally and the roots of the BCW at our foundation. Ralph has been a longtime member of our Board of Directors. We partnered with Ralph on Commerce Magazine, which was Westchester’s business magazine for many years and ultimately morphed into 914INC. Our partnership also branded Westchester as a leading economic engine through the economic development guide we jointly published on behalf of the County, our relocation guide and our membership directory. It was Ralph’s vision to produce the highest quality, most beautiful magazines and custom publications, especially the gorgeous and most well-read Westchester Magazine (he was so proud of how many eyes saw each issue because it was so attractive and relevant.) His publications defined Westchester, but did not define Ralph. Despite his great success, he always remained humble, albeit self deprecating at times, with a truly adorable giggle that meant “I really can’t believe all this is happening.” He was open to meeting every person who wanted to meet him. He was the most real person I know with doubts and vulnerabilities and with steadfast loyalty, which the BCW was so fortunate to earn. For me, he was a strong supporter and friend through tough times where he stood by me… and successful times where he was proud to be a BCW Board member. As we were so proud to have him. Ralph’s loss is a tragedy … but his legacy will be a Westchester community that will honor his vision, passion and love for our home.” – Marsha Gordon, President and CEO, Business Council of Westchester

“Ralph was truly one of the all-time great CRMA Publishers, a terrific guy and a wonderful friend. I have a photo album in my mind, filled with images/memories of all the many great experiences we had at CRMA gatherings and when I visited NY. My thoughts and prayers are with the Martinelli family and everyone at Today Media.” – Jeffrey A. Goldberg, CRO, Contemporary Media
“As [Publisher] of Today Media Ralph Martinelli brought wisdom, culture and glamor to Westchester County. Martinelli grew up in Westchester’s publishing business. He took a company, started by his father, and grew it into what it is today along with his two brothers. The County certainly pauses when Westchester Magazine hits the mailboxes, and the events he started in Westchester are always the buzz of the County. We will always remember him for the visionary he was. At this difficult time our thoughts and prayers are with his family.” – Westchester County Executive George Latimer - Advertisement -
“Ralph was such a great example of a family love and someone the Merrills could look up to. He was very kind to me and helpful when I took over Washingtonian. He and his kindness will not be forgotten.” – Cathy Merrill, President and CEO Washingtonian Magazine

“Ralph was one of the kindest men I have ever known. He was so proud of the family. He always told me they made him look good. The Martinellis are the family the Allisons looks up to as a model for making it work as small business owners who play by the rules, take care of their employees, and try to make a profit while doing some good — and enjoying life. Rest In Peace sweet Ralph.” – Christine Allison, CEO D Magazine Partners
“Ralph brought fun to the CRMA. So easy to forget that joy is so essential to our work. I will miss him so. My deepest condolences to the Martinelli family and all the staff at Today Media.” – David Lipson, President Philadelphia and Boston Magazines
“There was only ONE Ralph, He cut a swathe through life with his big presence and soul. I will miss his laugh and mischief. May he look down and know he is loved. Prayers to you and the family.” – Jonathan Moffley, President, Moffley Media
“On a personal note, I recall fondly interacting with him over the years, whether … at one of Westchester Magazine’s many events, or catching up at mutual gatherings, such as Thompson & Bender’s annual holiday party. He always found ways to help his alma mater, and was endlessly excited about the next big thing for Westchester–both the county and the magazine. By all accounts, his was a personality that filled the room. That room has a little less effervescence today…” – Alexander S. Malecki, Director of Communications & Marketing, Iona Preparatory, in an endearing newsletter to the Iona Prep community.
“Ralph was one of the really good guys in the industry and will be missed by all.” – Mark McCormick, President, Gulfstream Media Group
