Vaza Salon Opens in Formerly Vacant Ossining National Bank

Two sisters turn an Ossining landmark into what they hope will become a vibrant salon.

VaZa Salon has opened in the vintage, and formerly vacant, Ossining National Bank building (137 Main St, Ossining 914-800-9137; vazasalon.com). Zamira Cutra runs the business side while her sister, Val Tana, formerly with Devachan in New York City and Billy’s in Mount Kisco, is a stylist. “We are so excited to be part of Ossining,” Cutra says. “We kept all the architectural details of the bank intact: 13-foot ceilings, 12-foot-tall floor-to-ceiling windows, marble columns, and exposed brick.” The salon has eight styling stations, a customized color room, and spaces for makeup and waxing.
