The City of White Plains has dropped a violation notice against the City Center 15: Cinema de Lux movie theater citing an infestation of insects, rats, vermin, or other pests. A report from an independent pest control service chosen by the city confirmed that no evidence of any infestation was found at the theater.
Karen Pasquale, senior advisor to the mayor, said in a statement on January 19 that the inspection results of the pest control service used by National Amusements, which own Cinema de Lux, in addition to the theater’s own bi-weekly inspection program should relieve any of the public’s concerns.
Cinema de Lux was issued a notice of violation on January 13 after the city received complaints about a possible infestation. Rachel Lulay, a National Amusements spokesperson, issued a statement shortly after saying that the theater was thoroughly inspected by a licensed pest control company and the results showed the theater was clear of any infestation. The inspection was provided to the city in response to the notice.
