Set in the historic town of Lexington, MA, 40 minutes outside of Boston, The Inn at Hastings Park blends touches of Americana with modern design details. A Relais & Châteaux property, the Inn comprises 22 rooms across three antique buildings: The circa 1888 Main House, a beautiful example of Victorian architecture; the Isaac Mulliken House, built in 1841 for a popular statesman; and the Barn, Mulliken’s former carpentry shop.
Suites on each of the Barn’s three floors are outfitted with king-sized beds, reading nooks, fireplace-seating areas, and over-the-top marble bathrooms with rainfall showers (two have soaking tubs, too).
Designer Robin Gannon worked with the owners to lend a modern feel to the traditional inn. In the Main House’s king-size suite, bold wallpaper sports silver Mylar stars against a black background, while other rooms have stylish, handprinted paper by Great Barrington’s Peter Fasano. Early American touches, including a vintage, hand-hooked American-flag rug in the dining room, pay tribute to the buildings’ history.
With gas fireplaces in many of the rooms, free Wi-Fi, Smeg fridges, and those marble bathrooms, you could spend your entire stay luxuriating in your room. But don’t miss a chance to enjoy a five-star meal at the Main House. Owner Trisha Pérez Kennealy earned her Grand Diplôme from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and the menu reflects the best of locally sourced elegance and New England hospitality.
