Be on the lookout for recognizable White Plains scenery at the movies this December, as Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep have been spotted filming in the area for a currently untitled Steven Spielberg film.
According to several sources, the veteran actors were seen filming in the old AT&T building near Route 22/North Broadway and Barker Ave/Hamilton Ave in White Plains, and will be filming there over the next few weeks.
The film in question is allegedly a drama, set to be released December 22, 2017, recounting the Washington Post’s role in exposing the Pentagon Papers in 1971. Currently untitled, the project was previously referred to as The Post, according to Collider, but is now being called The Papers.
Collider also reports that the full cast has been announced, with Hanks taking on the role of Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee and Streep playing publisher Kay Graham, both of who battled the federal government for the right to publish the Pentagon Papers detailing the U.S. government’s military involvement in Vietnam.
The rest of the cast is impressive, including Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, and Zach Woods.
Basically, keep an eye out for all of these stars in the coming weeks, and shoot us an email if you spot one here.
