Glossier’s buildable Stretch Concealer ($18), made with emollients like beeswax and jojoba oil, is an “elastic” solution to the problem of cakey concealers. The latest trend in brows is microblading, a permanent makeup technique similar to tattooing. According to microblading expert Jill K. Imbrogno, founder and owner of the award-winning JKFlashy Makeup Service, the procedure involves “feathering or etching hair-like strokes to camouflage missing eyebrow hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments.” After the area is numbed, pigments are manually deposited with groupings of ultra-fine needles, resulting in defined but natural-looking brows. The procedure can take up to three hours, including consultation and design, and results last up to 18 months, though a touch-up may be necessary to maintain the look.
