This Law Firm’s Franchising Strategy is Changing the Face of Debt-Relief

Who would think that a law practice specializing in debt relief could yield a successful — and swiftly expanding — franchising venture? Leslie Tayne, that’s who. After founding the Tayne Law Group in 2011, Tayne expanded her successful Long Island practice to Manhattan and then White Plains and Mount Kisco. Now with plans to expand nationwide, her innovative brand of debt management is set to hit it big thanks to her fondness for franchising.

“Since I had already expanded throughout the New York area, I felt like it was time to strive for new goals and I chose franchising as a tool to grow my business,” says Tayne. “I didn’t decide to franchise overnight as it’s not a decision to rush into. I first naturally moved into surrounding areas that I knew would make sense for me geographically. After doing my research, I was able to pinpoint where debt resolution services were needed and what areas it logically made sense for me to expand to.”

Tayne adds that for an individual to become a franchisee of Tayne Law Group they must be an attorney in good standing, be able to practice law in the state where the franchise will be potentially located, and must have a commitment to act as an owner-operator. “Our franchise system is based on 15 years of tried and true operating systems, which removes the guesswork and traditional obstacles facing first-time business owners,” explains Tayne. “Franchisees’ roles are to tap into their established network to generate sales prospects and convert them to clients and then reap the benefits as those clients’ financial solutions are provided by our team.”

Tayne’s law group is particularly attractive to franchisees thanks to its unusual approach to debt reduction. Her practice aids clients by providing monthly budgets and helpful financial strategies, rather than encouraging them to file for bankruptcy. “Our mission at Tayne Law Group, P.C. is to offer people and businesses debt solutions that make sense for their unique needs based on their individual circumstances,” explains Tayne. “We want to be the law firm people and businesses know they can trust for guidance and support regarding their debt and financial needs.”

Currently, Tayne is looking to expand her company nationwide through franchising partners, with locations stretching from Rockland County to Houston, TX all reportedly on the table. For Tayne, the key to expansion is a careful mix of ambition and caution. “Franchising gives me an edge as it enables me to build my brand on a regional or national basis. More outreach allows for a broader outreach and better market penetration. Additionally, franchising can be very cost-effective for business development as long as you have an attractive franchise opportunity,” explains Tayne. “But as anxious as we are to franchise we are not rushing into making bad decisions when it comes to finding the right partners.”
