With more than 20 restaurants onboard, the New Rochelle Food Fest, from October 8 through October 19, is a testament to the diverse city and its dining options.
Lisa Davis, the business ambassador for the city of New Rochelle, says this is the second time the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) and the city’s Chamber of Commerce have partnered up to have a citywide restaurant week; each organization has held their own in the past. According to Davis, 18 international cuisines will be represented.

“Rather than a traditional restaurant week, we wanted a way to really showcase the great variety that we have available,” Davis says, adding that the involved eateries have the choice of what they want their specials to be, and the event gives new ones an opportunity to get their name out.
Some new additions to New Rochelle’s dining roster that have a chance to show themselves off include The Big Slice, a small pizzeria in New Roc City; Latin fusion restaurant Escape Latino; and Salsa y Brasa, a Peruvian-Mexican restaurant and bar. Staples including Modern and Posto 22 are offering either a discount or a prix fixe menu.
