Think You Have What it Takes to Be on 'Chopped'?

Do you often daydream about the glories of celebrity chef status? Want to join the ranks of our local culinary luminaries like Christian Petroni, Nick Di Bona, and Krista Espinal? Food Network has announced a talent search seeking local chefs and kitchen-friendly bartenders for the next season of Chopped — so now’s your chance.

“Want to show off your culinary skills on TV and possibly win $10,000?” casting recruiter Lauren Prywitch tells Lohud. “Food Network’s hit show Chopped is casting chefs, bartenders, and butchers in the New York area for upcoming episodes.”

Anyone interested should head over to the Chopped chef application. With a teeny bit of luck, you could be fresh meat on the show, joining Chopped alumni MK Larchmont’s Di Bona, Birdsall House’s former chef Espinal, Dafna Mizrahi from Monte’s Kitchen in Amenia, and chef Mike Bianco, formerly of The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry.

And who knows, with a lot of luck — and a bit of skill — you just might take home a winning title, and even a seat at the judges table, like Petroni.
