These Westchester Zip Codes Are Among the Richest in America

Bloomberg has released its study of the wealthiest communities in the nation. Guess who’s at the top.

Business and financial giant Bloomberg last week released their comprehensive breakdown of the wealthiest communities in the U.S., conveniently broken down by zip code and with handy data like median home value and adjusted gross income. Westchesterites will be pleased to learn their home remains among the highest echelons of the elite.

Harrison (10577), with a median AGI of $976,200 and home value of $1.53 million, beat out Greenwich, Boston, and every zip code in the Five Burroughs, making it the wealthiest neighborhood in the Northeast. Harrison placed fifth nationally, behind only Miami Beach and Palm Beach, Florida, and Palo Alto and Atherton, California. (Manhattan doesn’t even clock in until Number 21.)

Rye (10580) also broke the Top 40, with an AGI of about $579,800 and a higher median home value of $1.69 million.

The crunched numbers come from 2015 IRS returns, as well as recent Zillow and census data. So for those looking to bump our county up a notch, Harrison only needs to raise its AGI by about $400,000 to unseat Palo Alto. Take that, Silicon Valley!
