These Westchester High Schools Rank Among Best in the Country



Rankings giant U.S. News and World Report just released their 2018 list of the top high schools in the country — totaling more than 20,500, nearly 1,300 of which are located in New York. Two Westchester County high schools broke the national top 100, with nearly two-dozen making the state rankings.

Edgemont Junior-Senior High School in Greenburgh ranked 14th-best in New York, and 87th in the nation. (That’s the upper 96th percentile, for you standardized score fans.) It’s also the highest-ranked New York school outside of the Five Boroughs.

Bronxville High School came in just behind at 15th in the state and 90th overall.


Also breaking the New York Top 100 were:

Rye High School – 20th in the state and 114th nationally

Blind Brook High School (Rye Brook) – 22nd in the state and 159th nationally

Horace Greeley High School (Chappaqua) – 25th in the state and 177th nationally

Dobbs Ferry High School – 28th in the state and 182nd nationally

Harrison High School – 30th in the state and 197th nationally

Byram Hills High School (Armonk) – 32nd in the state and 201st nationally

Pleasantville High School – 34th in the state and 228th nationally

Briarcliff High School – 36th in the state and 248th nationally

North Salem Middle School/High School – 41st in the state and 283rd nationally

John Jay High School (Cross River) – 43rd in the state and 298th nationally

Croton-Harmon High School – 44th in the state and 301st nationally

Fox Lane High School (Bedford) – 50nd in the state and 365th nationally

Mamaroneck High School – 52th in the state and 385th nationally

Ardsley High School – 61st in the state and 365th nationally

Yorktown High School – 76th in the state and 725th nationally

Lakeland High School (Shrub Oak) – 77th in the state and 735th nationally

Hendrick Hudson High School (Cortlandt) – 84th in the state and 839th nationally

Eastchester Senior High School – 87th in the state and 885th nationally

Sleepy Hollow High School – 88th in the state and 890th nationally

Somers Senior High School – 93rd in the state and 908th nationally

Scarsdale Senior High School – 100h in the state and 994th nationally

Five more Westchester schools broke the New York top 300, just for good measure.
