If you love makeup, fragrances, and skincare products, you already know that Lord & Taylor in Eastchester (well, Scarsdale P.O.) is — let’s not mince words — a WONDERLAND!
It’s not just the sparkling glass lighted counters teeming with Bobbi Brown, Chanel, NARS, Clinque, Lancome, Kiehl’s, and all our favorite brands. It’s not just every skincare product and tool under the sun. (We never use our peripheral vision when we have a specific makeup-counter destination in mind, lest we spot a NuFace or a Foreo Luna or a Clarisonic kit on the way and lose our cool.) It’s the welcoming and experienced staff at every counter, pros who are trained not just in customer service, but in everything about their specific brand. That means they can show you: how to find the perfect foundation color match (and the right kind for your skin), how to determine your undertone, how to apply specific products, and what the best options are for your needs, wants, and budget.
This week, the wonderland known as Lord & Taylor becomes one big, beautiful party! Here’s what you need to know:
What: Passport to Beauty, a fun-filled, beauty-filled event in which each attendee gets a passport featuring a variety of beauty “destinations.” For instance, you may visit the eyebrow bar at the Bobbi Brown counter, the hydration bar at Kiehl’s, or the fragrance counter to learn about layering fragrances. The event will feature a DJ and hors d’oeuvres and prosecco will be served.
Where: Lord & Taylor, Vernon Hills Shopping Center, 750 White Plains Rd, Scarsdale
When: Thursday, February 9, 5 – 9 p.m.
How: The event is open to the public, but advance reservations are preferred. Call 914.723.7700, ext. 513, to make a reservation. A $20 registration fee in the form of a Lord & Taylor gift card will get you a cosmetic goodie bag filled with beauty samples. The gift card will be returned to registrants at the door, along with the bag.
“Those who don’t pre-register are still welcome to participate in all the events,” says Marianne Senno, Lord & Taylor’s area sales manager for cosmetics. “They just don’t get the cosmetic bag due to the limited quantities.”
